Volunteer!

By thinking back to those who, in each of our lives, made the mundane special, who brought excitement to the everyday, who started us on the right path, we found the ideal positioning, and ideal descriptor for the role of the Big Brothers Big Sisters volunteer in a child's life.

Enroll a Child

Every child can benefit from having another caring adult in his/her life. Mentors help children broaden their horizons by sharing time with them. Children can meet with their mentors on weekends, during their school day, or after-school.

Community Based Program

This program provides Ozaukee County youth between the ages of 5 through 15, with the opportunity to develop a special friendship with another caring adult. The ‘new friends’ spend an average of 3 hours together 2-3 times per month exploring interests, sharing stories, and enjoying the experience of being together.

Activity Ideas

Activities the matches participate in are focused around the child and volunteer’s interests. The possibilities are endless. To name a few…Playing sports, going to a museum, attending family gatherings, biking, watching movies, cooking, doing arts and crafts, and hiking.

The Rewards

Both the volunteer and child share in receiving the benefits of this magical friendship. They learn from each other the importance of having fun, trying new things, developing friendships, cherishing life’s simple moments, laughing at yourself, and learning to relax and take life a little less seriously. It is all about hepling a child start on the right path.
