Community Partnerships

Corporations Provide Mutually Beneficial Partnerships: Growth in the number of children who have a caring adult mentor in their lives most readily occurs through our partnerships with corporations in the community. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ozaukee County recognizes our business leaders, and because we know they recognize the needs of the children we serve, we are prepared to explore opportunities with them that will help position local businesses as leaders in children’s service initiatives.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ozaukee County and our School-based Mentoring Program are well respected and highly visible in the community and the involvement of corporate leaders in recruiting volunteers from among their employees and supporting their employees’ mentoring activities during the school day provides our local businesses the visibly in the community that helps them succeed. Corporate sponsorship of our special events provides our business partners with multiple publicity and recognition opportunities while insuring mentoring services to growing number of Ozaukee County youth.

Partnerships With Faith-based Organizations: Local churches, youth ministry and mission groups provide Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ozaukee County with caring mentors who enjoy the rewards of helping to impact children’s self-worth and confidence. Being a mentor at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ozaukee helps create another avenue of fellowship for faith-based groups and serves as a testimony of the church’s involvement in the community. Being a mentor through organized youth ministry projects helps churches grow their membership by providing their youth with a sense of connection to their faith community that lasts into adulthood.

High School and College Partnerships: Becoming a Big Brother or Sister through local high school and college activities provide positive peer mentoring relationships for children. Many high schools and colleges in Ozaukee County call for their students to provide service to their communities as part of their graduation requirements. Being a high school or college Big not only fulfills the immediate need of fulfilling graduation requirements, it is a gateway for older teens and young adults to become caring and compassionate adults through mutually rewarding and fun relationships with their Little Brother or Sister.

Partnerships with Service Organizations: Service organization membership provides many opportunities to impact the development of youth in Ozaukee County. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ozaukee County publicizes the financial support provided to our mentoring programs as well as the their memberships’ participation as mentors. As a result, support and involvement in Big Brothers Big Sisters helps area service organizations extend their reach in the community, expand their organization’s membership and increase their visibility while helping us to serve more Ozaukee County youth in need of a special mentoring relationship.
