Funding and Program Costs

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ozaukee County, Inc. does not receive funding through State or Federal Grants supported by taxes, and less than 6% of our program costs is financially supported through a grant from Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. As a result, over 94% of the funding needed to provide mentoring to the youth of Ozaukee County is provided locally, and we are proud to report that we are responsible stewards of the resources extended to us by the people living within the communities we serve. We strive to keep our administrative costs low so more of the financial support we receive goes directly to providing youth premier mentoring services.

It costs Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ozaukee County approximately $1,200.00 per year to make and sustain a one-to-one match for each child, and includes the cost of professionally managing each match relationship as well as agency-sponsored activities for the Bigs and their Littles. Littles and the Little’s families receive consistent contact and support from staff, and agency staff help the Little’s families identify other needs they may have and refer the families to services available in the community. The web of support we provide maximizes the chance that a Big Brothers Big Sisters relationship will “take root” and flourish, and children and adults in the mentoring relationships will spend more time together and continue as a match for longer periods.
